| It's always good
to fly with friends and it's good to check out new places so this was good
for both Gary Brown and myself, Jeff Goin.
This is the "South Naperville" launch that we try to keep
real low key. As you can see from this picture, houses abutt this small
park and Sunday morning sleep is not to be disturbed.
Gary pulled off a wonderful launch while I snapped pictures. I'd
already taken a "warm up" flight before Gary arrived to try out
the air. It tasted a bit bumpy and cool but still plenty sweet.
It was a glorious 45 minute romp around the sod farms, corn rows, river
and Quary in spite of level 2 bumpiness. At 1000' AGL I was going
backwards and knew that breeze would soon settle to the surface, stirring
things up. That's why we cut it short.
From 1500' AGL I shut off the motor and soaked in the quite glide to
music. We both landed, power off, within a few seconds of each other. Nary
a neighbor poked their heads out and even the police were pleasantly
disinterested. |

The Garymobile rivals the Batmobile for communications. Porcupines may
share some resemblance but can't compete with his NSA-like listening
ability. 3.
We traded taking shots at each other. Here Gary readies his weapon of
choice, a 3 Megapixel mini that lives in his paramotor harness. |
