They were enough.

Arrival day revealed the Wrath of hurricane force winds. Only a couple of us flew and then very briefly since the winds were offshore and switchy. But the drive from Loreto to Magdalena Bay provided awesome in-flight scenery.

To The Beach

We flew our  paramotors to each new location while Captain Tom sailed (motored, actually) the boat behind us. The dingy served as our sand to shore transport.

Soaring

We discovered this amazing ridge, complete with a motor landing spot in the middle and proceeded to splay our wings in and about the succulent ridge lift. There was never a need to launch from up high, we could simply run from the beach into smooth, strong lift.

The Days Blurred: Not More Flying?

ff15-CrowdOnBeach.jpg (73354 bytes)ff-Soaring0019.jpg (388875 bytes) Morning and afternoon. Every day. Sunshine, steady building wind, easy reverses and flying over these spectacular eyefuls of landscape. After 4 days of this Phil wandered up to the main cabin mumbling "are we going flying again?"

He was probably the first one aloft.

Living Like Kings

Last Minute Flights & Snorkling

The Gloria Maris is minded fabulously by Capt Tom and his wife Liliana who also happened to be splendid cooks.

After 8 days of this, we'd had enough. There was a hurricane coming, we had to get to Loreto, and, there was  much Mexican food yet to be consumed.

Hurricane Lane was a bad shot and missed Loreto by several hundred miles. Whew! We went snorkeling after yet more flying and finally called it a trip after 10 days.

Thanks to Jeff Hamann who organized everything. It was a blast spending time with pilots Jeff H., Phil Russman, and Michael O'Daniel.

Now to peel off more sunburned skin.
