Yup, it's true, Paramotor City is for sale.
Thankfully, Michelle and Jerry Daniele, among our sport's earliest
adopters, will continue to play an important role, with Michelle doing
glider repairs and Denzel providing mechanical services. They'll do so
now from other property they own just a half-mile away.
Their new place will continue to be a club field for the Route 66
flyers and out-of-towners are welcome.
I've personally flown the gorgeous 60 acre site many times, as have
many others who enjoyed fly-ins there over the years. Old timers will
remember an Powered Sport Flying magazine cover that was shot on the property by
Robert Kitilla of two pilots flying down the Rio Puerco. It was
breathtaking, in my opinion—the place is a gem.
AmericanFlyerPPG has a great power point presentation.
Unfortunately, you must use Internet Explorer to view it, but here are
some highlights:
• 60 Acres of Land, 18 miles from Albuquerque, NM
• 2,500 sq. ft. Home • Proven Business Plan operating continuously
since 1997
• Office Structure• 4,000 sq. ft. Divided Pavilion
• Area for Lessons & Show Room
• Open Space
• Secure Workshop
• 20 Acres suitable for sub-division
• Only 30 minutes from downtown Albuquerque, with an exit off I-40
which is less than a mile away.
All of it priced for $875,000.
My personal experience is that this place is among the top 5 most
beautiful places I've flown and some of my coolest experiences sprung
from here. The flight park has a special use permit for flying, too, so
there's some protection for those who have a passion.
Michelle writes:
Jerry & I have decided to offer our
property and business up for sale in order to pursue other
interests. Jerry is going to reestablish his construction company
and concentrate on building custom homes in New Mexico. I will be
focusing on expanding the services offered by my glider shop.
It is our hope however to find someone who
would be willing to continue to operate the Paramotor City
Ultra-Light Flight Park with the same spirit in which it was
created.
