CLEAR LAKE — A 54-year-old Brainerd man died Saturday after he collided with a parked vehicle while paragliding near Clear Lake, the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The fatal crash happened about 5 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s department reported. The victim, Michael Rademacher, had been in the air about 10 minutes when the parachute portion of a paraglider became tangled in a tree branch, causing him to careen into a parked vehicle below.

Attempts at the scene by family members and emergency personnel to revive Rademacher were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal crash happened on the 6900 block of River Road in Clear Lake Township, where Rademacher was attending a family gathering, the sheriff’s department reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
