Invitation, post 17387 of Pilots PPG Club, Mar 7, 2001

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Terry Alford, we have definitely secured a location for the First Annual Paramotor Convention. It will be April 5-9(Thurs.-Mon.) at the River Wilderness Golf and Country Club located along the beautiful Manatee River near Parrish, Florida.

This location will be perfect as it has large fields that allow take-offs from any direction, an abundant area for cars and displays, and some of the most beautiful scenery along Florida’s west coast. It is just minutes from the major highways and accommodations, and from the air has breathtaking views of Tampa Bay, the Skyway Bridge, Sarasota and the local habitat. A sunset flight from this location will be in your memory for a long, long time.

Entry fee to the event for pilots will be $95. This will include daily flying (record attempt), EAA (Experimental Aircraft Assoc.) membership-for insurance purposes, EAA magazine subscription, and a
banquet dinner on Saturday night (April 7th). Those already having active EAA membership need only pay a $65 entry fee. Additional family members or guests wanting to attend the banquet can do so with
a $25 charge. Proper dress for the banquet is required. An entry form for those wanting to pre-register will be sent out soon along with a schedule of events, directions and other information.

A food cart will be provided daily for those wanting to stay at the location and buy lunch. Emergency medical services will also be on site. For those needing camping or hotel information, please refer to previous posts under the “Parastars” section of the “discussion groups” tab at the home page. Let’s get ready to have some fun flying in the warm sunshine, meeting old friends and making new ones, and setting a new record for the number of paramotors in the air at one time! Don’t miss out on this international event!
